Terms of Service

1. Who we are

The Service is operated by Stefan Mladenov, a sole trader established in the Republic of North Macedonia, trading under the name MapLore. You can reach us at any time at company@maplore.io. References to "you" or "your" mean the individual or organization using the Service.

2. The Service

MapLore lets you create cinematic historical map videos from built-in historical presets, templates, and a manual editor (empires, battles, wars, timelines, and political borders). The Service is deterministic and preset and template driven: it does not use generative AI to produce content on your behalf, and it does not use your content to train any AI model. We may add, change, or remove features over time to improve or maintain the Service.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must provide a valid email address and a password meeting our security requirements to create an account, and you must keep that information accurate. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country if that age is higher, to use the Service. Please notify us promptly at company@maplore.io if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Plans, billing, and Paddle as Merchant of Record

MapLore offers a free plan and paid subscription plans (currently Creator and Pro) with monthly export allowances, resolution limits, and feature access as described on our Pricing page, together with one time export credit packs. Paid subscriptions renew automatically for successive billing periods until you cancel.

Our order process and payments are handled by our reseller and Merchant of Record, Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"). When you purchase a subscription or credit pack, you buy it from Paddle, which is the seller of record, collects payment, issues invoices, and remits any applicable sales tax or VAT. Your purchase is therefore also subject to Paddle's buyer terms and privacy policy. MapLore never receives or stores your full payment card details.

Prices, plan features, and export or credit allowances may change, and we will give notice of material changes before they apply to a renewal. You may cancel a subscription at any time from your account settings; cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the current billing period. 5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable law or infringe any third party's rights;
• Upload or create content that is unlawful, defamatory, hateful, or that promotes violence or discrimination;
• Misrepresent historical facts with intent to deceive, or present the Service's educational approximations as authoritative academic or survey grade data;
• Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or interfere with the Service's operation or security;
• Resell, sublicense, or provide access to the Service to third parties without our written permission.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of the projects, scenes, titles, and text you create in the Service ("Your Content"). You grant MapLore a worldwide, non exclusive, royalty free license to host, store, process, reproduce, and display Your Content solely to operate, provide, secure, and improve the Service, for example to render your video exports. Exported videos on paid plans are provided without a MapLore watermark, as described on the Pricing page. You are solely responsible for Your Content and for how you use and distribute your exports, and you confirm you have the rights needed to do so.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, historical dataset curation, presets, and branding, is owned by MapLore and protected by intellectual property laws. Except for Your Content and the rights expressly granted to you in these Terms, we reserve all rights in the Service. You may not use the MapLore name or logo without our prior written consent.

8. Historical data disclaimer

Historical boundaries, dates, and territorial extents shown in the Service are curated for educational and storytelling purposes. Some boundary data is approximate, and where indicated, confidence and source notes are shown in the map controls. The Service is not a substitute for academic, cartographic, or legal sources, and MapLore makes no warranty as to the historical or geographic accuracy of any map, boundary, or dataset.

9. Third party services

The Service relies on third parties to function, including Paddle for payments and Amazon Web Services for hosting and video rendering. Your use of the Service may be subject to those providers' terms, and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions beyond our reasonable control.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MAPLORE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, OR PROFITS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE OR 50 EUR. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including your mandatory rights as a consumer.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold MapLore harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable expenses arising out of Your Content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

12. Term and termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, on reasonable notice where practicable. On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will survive.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of North Macedonia, without regard to its conflict of laws principles, and the courts of the Republic of North Macedonia will have jurisdiction over any dispute. This does not deprive you of the protection of any mandatory consumer law of your country of residence, and if you are a consumer in the European Union or United Kingdom, you keep the benefit of those mandatory protections.
